About
Daniel
Raised in Cornwall, UK, I grew up playing games. Music from series such as The Legend of Zelda and Banjo-Kazooie pointed me towards learning piano just so I could play the soundtracks I loved so much, and in the process I learned what made them great. Many school lunchtimes were spent making orchestral covers of game soundtracks, telling myself "it's just a remix". Little did I know, I was slowly learning to compose.

Since then I have made some success composing for small projects involving games, animations, and short films, always looking to broaden my horizons and try new things. While studying at the University of Hertfordshire I grew to love the art of sound design as a partner of composing, and the walls between those two passions started to blur. Each project is a new chance to break walls, bend rules, and twist ideas to discover something I never would have thought possible.

In addition to audio, I have several other creative passions. I'm a budding author on his way to releasing a debut novel set in a dystopian fantasy world, stemming from a love of linguistics, historical fiction, and complex magic systems. I've played D&D and several other tabletop games for years. I have a passion for acting in all capacities, from stage, to screen, to voice acting. To me, creative juices, stories, and inspirations can flow from just about anything – and as humans it is our duty to seize them when they come!

And, of course, there is my love of games. It's no surprise I spent a lot of my childhood dressed up as Link from The Legend of Zelda. Pretending to be a hero running around the cliffs and coasts of Cornwall sparked in me a love of the brightness of life – importantly, learning how to play and pretend. Everything from the games I played as a child, the music I listened to as a teenager, and the sounds I make as an adult has probed me to always ask questions and see where they take me. It's not always the answer that matters.

Journey before destination.
